Introducing Katy…

 Katy Garber, pianist. Professor Katy Garber has returned to live in Fort Collins after singing opera around the globe. Winner of the Denver Lyric Opera Guild Competition, while still an undergraduate at the University of Wyoming, Katy’s career was launched with her role with Opera Fort Collins as Rosina in the Barber of Seville, and then taking on roles with the Seattle Opera. Classical solo artist engagements include Seattle Opera, Dallas Opera, Central City Opera, Cleveland Opera, Florentine Opera, Arizona Opera, Dallas Symphony, Denver Symphony, Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Boise Summer Festival, McCall Summer Festival, and Shreveport Symphony, among others.

As a Mezzo Soprano, Katy specialized in Wagner’s repertoire, performing in top international houses in Wagner’s Ring Cycle productions at the core of her career.

Through her many and varied roles encompassing all operatic, symphonic, and contemporary performances, she has experience in all styles of music and performance.

Katy has taught private voice and piano lessons and performed as a collaborative pianist for over 20 years and brings a high level of excellence in training to each and every project.

Her belief in passing on her knowledge and experience is where the Private Studio and you as the student come together to create aritistic brilliance!

As an active Professor of Music, Katy finds great joy in watching the growth and evolution of each and every student she teaches!
